What Are Pinterest Reels?
Pinterest Reels (also known as Idea Pins) are short-form, full-screen vertical video pins that are Pinterest's answer to TikTok and Instagram Reels. They support multi-page stories with a mix of video clips, images, and text overlays. Reels are designed to be immersive and engaging, often featuring tutorials, demonstrations, and creative storytelling. Like standard video pins, Pinterest does not provide a native download option for Reels.
Downloading Reels with Our Tool
Our Pinterest Video Downloader supports all Pinterest Reels and Idea Pins. The download process is identical to regular video pins: copy the Reel's URL from Pinterest, paste it into our download box, and click download. For multi-page Idea Pins, our tool will detect all video pages and present download options for each one. You can download individual pages or all of them.
Reels vs Regular Videos
Pinterest Reels differ from regular video pins in several ways. Reels are always in vertical (9:16) format optimized for mobile viewing. They often feature text overlays, music, and effects added through Pinterest's creation tools. Some Reels are multi-page, consisting of several short clips or images combined into a single pin. Our downloader handles all these variations, extracting the base video content regardless of overlays or effects.
Quality Considerations for Reels
Because Reels are designed for mobile-first viewing, they are typically uploaded at 1080x1920 resolution (1080p vertical). This is the highest quality available for most Reels. Some creators upload at lower resolutions. Our tool will present all available quality levels. For the best experience viewing Reels on a computer, 1080p vertical is recommended.
Saving Idea Pin Collections
If you find a creator who produces Idea Pins you love, you can save their content systematically. Navigate to their profile, find the Idea Pin, copy its URL, and download. For creators who produce series of Idea Pins on a topic, downloading the series creates a complete offline tutorial library. This is especially useful for instructional content like step-by-step craft tutorials, cooking series, or fitness programs.
